TASOC Policies
MEMBERSHIP
A nonrefundable annual membership is due each calendar year and is valid through December 31. This fee helps sustain the school and is required to enroll in regular session courses; membership is not required for workshops. Membership fees are not prorated.

Annual Membership Fees:
Family: $50
Adult: $40 (includes teens enrolled in adult classes)
Young Artist (up to age 14): $20
Teen (enrolled in teen classes only): $20

TASOC members enjoy discounts at select art supply stores and museums. Membership cards may be picked up at the front desk.

REGISTRATION
• Visit our Courses page or online registration portal to view current offerings and register.
• When registration opens for a session, students may register online, in person, or by mail. Phone registration is accepted one week after online registration opens.
• Registration continues until a class is full or until the second class meeting. No students will be permitted to enroll after the second class meeting.
• Young Artist classes are designed for specific age groups, and children must enroll accordingly. No exceptions will be made.
• Adult classes are open to students at least 15 years old and require adult membership. Students under 18 years of age must have written permission from a parent or guardian to attend any class which uses a nude life model.

MINIMUM ENROLLMENT
Every class, workshop or camp requires a minimum number of students to run. Any offering that does not meet minimum enrollment may be subject to cancellation. If a class, workshop or camp is canceled by The Art School at Old Church, a full refund will be given. Classes and workshops will be canceled one week prior to the start date if minimum enrollment is not met.
PAYMENT AND FEES
Tuition and materials fees must be paid in full at the time of registration and are not prorated. Students with an outstanding balance and no approved payment plan may not attend class. Payment plans may be available; please call the school for more information.

DISCOUNTS:​
Students 65 and older receive a 10% tuition discount, applied automatically at registration. Memberships and workshops are excluded.

Transfer Fee: $25 per course (transfers must occur within the same semester)

WITHDRAWALS / REFUNDS / CREDITS

Students wishing to withdraw from a class or workshop must submit written notice by mail, email, or in person.

Written notice must be received at least two weeks (14 days) prior to the start of a class or workshop to qualify for a full refund or credit of tuition and materials fees, minus a $25 withdrawal fee per course.

Written notice received fewer than two weeks (14 days) before the start date, or after a class has begun, is not eligible for a refund or credit.

Exceptions for medical withdrawals may be granted with written confirmation from a physician and approval from the Executive Director. If approved, full or partial refunds or account credits for tuition and materials fees will be issued, less a $25 processing fee per course.

If the school cancels a class or workshop and rescheduling is not possible, all payments will be refunded in full, including membership fees if membership was required for enrollment.

Membership fees are non-refundable except as outlined above.

The Art School at Old Church reserves the right to substitute instructors and/or studios for any class, workshop, or camp. Such substitutions do not constitute grounds for a refund.

TRANSFER
Transfers may be requested before the second class meeting, provided space is available, instructor approval is granted, and minimum enrollment for the original class is maintained. $25 transfer fee applies.

ABSENCES / MAKE-UPS
Student absences are nonrefundable. The school is not responsible for providing make-up classes. Any make-up classes must occur within the same semester and with the same instructor.

CONDUCT
The Art School at Old Church reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any students whose conduct is disruptive or inappropriate. Cell phone use is prohibited in studios; devices must be set to silent or vibrate. Please note: Children are not permitted to accompany adults to classes or open studio time.

INCLEMENT WEATHER
School closing decisions will be made by 7:30 AM for morning classes and no later than 90 minutes prior to afternoon and evening classes. Please call 201-767-7160 for a detailed recorded message. Updates will also be posted on the school website and on Instagram and Facebook. Make-up classes will be scheduled as appropriate. Refunds or credits will not be issued for weather-related cancellations, even if you are unable to attend the make-up sessions.
