Online Film Screenings and Discussions

Please join us for online discussions with filmmaker and TASOC student Nitsan Tal.

These discussions will last approximately one hour.

 

These events are donation-based (suggested $5-10). All donations will benefit The Art School at Old Church.

Registrants will be able to view the full film via a password-protected link through June16.

When Raffael Lomas, Israeli artist and TED Fellow, travels to Uganda to make art with South Sudanese children raised in Israel and deported back to Africa, he forges unexpected connections and wrestles with the question - what is the real value of art?

It Takes Balls

Please join us for an online discussion of the short film It Takes Balls with filmmaker Nitsan Tal and film subject Ilan Kwittken.

**Registration is required and closes at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 30.**

Registrants will be sent a link to view the film prior to the Zoom discussion.

Summary

This is the story of Ilan Kwittken, an actor who likes to portray women. He tells his personal account of growing up with an abusive father, developing his sexual identity, and at the same time, his interest in playing female roles. In his quest to perfect this art form, Ilan learns to perform a host of female characters. Still, when he is finally ready to come out to the world, he realizes that the 80s entertainment industry is not prepared for him.
