Mikhail Zakin's Journey in Clay:
A Retrospective Show & Sale
May 4 - June 4, 2013
Reception: May 4, 3-6pm
The body of work that Mikhail Zakin left behind, to be exhibited in this retrospective, is extraordinary. Created over nearly fifty years of a life dedicated to creativity in all its forms, having all of these works in one venue is an exciting and unique experience for the ceramic community and the Art School at Old Church. For the month of May, the legacy of her work and life will be brought into focus, creating a window into the mind of a truly independent and uncompromising artist. When viewing even the most basic of utilitarian objects created by Zakin, one is confronted with a visual and cerebral contemplation of the essence of what it means to be human.
