The Art School at Old Church is a vibrant community of artists and art lovers who support and encourage each other in their creative endeavors. There are many ways to participate at the school: join us for a class or workshop, attend one of our gallery exhibitions, or volunteer your time for one of our events! Malcolm Davis
1937-2011

A message to the Pottery Community, from Mikhail Zakin:
“We have lost a dearly loved friend. On December 12th, Malcolm Davis died, following surgery. Known in the pottery world as the Shino Warrior, Malcolm has an assured place in the history of American ceramics. He forged new practice through his workshops, influencing a generation of potters. His carbon trapping in shino glaze added a dimension for the potters, who were entranced by the possibilities. For 30 years, Malcolm contributed to the Art School’s Annual Pottery Show. He was a force to be reckoned with, a larger than life character. We will miss him.”

Discount provider list is subject to change. Some museums may also give you a discount when you present your card at admission. Members can pick up a membership card at the school or call to have it mailed.

Ceramic Studio Time

Studio time is open to students enrolled for the semester in adult ceramics classes. Sign in at the desk before you go downstairs to work in the studio, and then sign out and pay at the desk before you leave ($2.50/hour). Bulk studio time cards are available - please ask at the desk for more information or to purchase a bulk studio time card ($60/30 hours - a savings of .50 per hour). Studio time cards have no expiration date and are transferable to other students.
